Promoting efficiency of liquid–liquid extraction at a high pH is main challenge for the recovery volatile fatty acids (VFAs) from organic wastes. In this study, VFAs artificial solution and acidification fermentation broth kitchen wastes using ionic liquids (ILs) was assessed pH. The effect ILs addition ratio in diluent, volumetric solvent to feed (S/F) on were investigated. consists [P666,14][Cl] (IL101) dodecane found be promising VFA 6.0, especially butyric acid. IL-101 S/F significant factors VFAs. general, higher can promote single As result, maximum rate acetic acid (38.4–49.9%) (66.0–92.1%) different concentration solutions observed 10% = 2/1. also effective types real selectivity 60.2%/70.5% type 74.6%/62.7% mixture broth.
